Before you can start making sales on your Point of Sale (POS) system, you need to open the registry—think of it as flipping the "Open" sign on for your store’s transactions. To do this, just click ‘Open Reg’ (short for Open Registry).
Good news: You only need to do this once per day! What happens when you open it? Your POS system starts tracking sales, keeping records, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
💡 Pro Tip: Clibase gives you the option to allow only authorized staff to open the registry. Need help setting this up? Our customer support team is ready to assist you!
To start your sales for the day, you’ll need to open the registry. It’s super simple:
🖱 Click the “Open Reg” button ⌨️ Or just press “F1” for a shortcut!
When you do this, a popup will appear, asking for your authorized username and password.
🔑 A few things to remember:
If it’s your first time, your initial login credentials should match what's set up in the system.
If there are access restrictions, make sure to use the authorized personnel’s login details instead.
Now, you’re one step away set to start selling. 🚀
Now that the registry is open, the next step is entering the "Change Fund." This is where the cashier inputs an amount that will serve as the starting cash for giving change to customers throughout the shift.
💡 Why is the Change Fund Important?
It ensures that you have enough small bills and coins to give proper change.
It helps in tracking cash flow accurately.
It plays a role in balancing the end-of-day reports.
A Quick Note: The Change Fund amount can either: ✔️ Be included in the remittance at the end of the shift. ❌ Or be excluded, depending on how your store handles cash flow.
Your POS system will record this amount, so make sure to enter it correctly. Now you're all set to start handling transactions smoothly! 💵 🚀
