Applying Discounts in the POS

Discounts help you give special pricing to eligible customers quickly and accurately.

Steps to Apply a Discount:

1. Open the Discount Menu 🎯

   • In the cart section, click “SC/PWD/NAD/MANUAL DISCOUNT”.

2. Choose the Discount Type ✅

   • Available discount types include:

     • SC/PWD – for senior citizens or persons with disabilities

     • NAD – corporate or negotiated discounts

     • Manual Discount – for custom discounts

   • Tip: Discounts are set up in the Admin Portal and apply to the entire transaction.

3. Apply the Discount 💾

   • Select the discount → it will automatically adjust the total amount in the cart.

💡 Why this is useful: Applying discounts correctly ensures eligible customers get the right price and keeps your transaction records accurate.

Here are the available types of discounts you can choose from:

1. Manual Discount

• Enter the number of eligible individuals and specify the amount.

• This applies a fixed amount discount to the transaction.

1. Senior Citizen & PWD Discount

• Select “Senior Citizen” or “PWD”.

• Enter the number of individuals, and input the customer’s ID and name.

PWD Discount:

1. Zero-rated

• For diplomats or other zero-rated customers.

• The discount applies automatically in the cart, and “Z” appears next to the product price.

1. Customizable Discounts

You may add your customizable discounts on the Admin portal. On this part, we added an employee discount.

Select "Employee Discount" or "Manager Discount". Enter the number of eligible individuals for the discount. The discounted price is preset on the Admin side, so selecting this type of discount will apply the price automatically in the cart section.

In addition, you may also add the discountable and non-discountable items on the discount types and set an expiration date and time which will be useful if you have promotional discounts.

Moreover, Clibase can also calculate discounts based on the total number of customers. Just input the number of customers in the box then apply the discount.

Sample scenario: If there is one (1) senior citizen in a group of six (6) people, you must input the total number of customers before selecting and applying the senior citizen discount.

💡 Important Note About Discounts

• Always apply the discount before billing out the transaction.

• The POS system automatically resets discounts after each transaction.

• ✅ Why this matters: Applying the discount at checkout ensures the correct total is computed and prevents errors in billing.

Tip: Double-check the cart before finalizing the sale to make sure all discounts are applied properly.
